World of Warcraft addon turmoil

Tobold's MMORPG Blog: World of Warcraft addon turmoil

I found this and immediately got a sinking feeling in my stomach. Major changes are never easy and it looks like this one's a doozy. I'm really interested to see how players cope with the loss of their mods decision making capabilities. Will this fundamentally change people's style of play? Will there be new mods and addons that come to the rescue? Things are going to be very interesting.

World of Warcraft Whisper SPAM Addon

Rent A Coder - World Of Warcraft Addon

I got my first "/whisper" spam in the game the other day. I promptly added the user to my ignore list and went on my way. I only breifly considered the effort involved in spamming users this way. My only thought was that it must be very time consuming.

That was until I happened across this page from a google search on World of Warcraft mods. If this didn't result in the spam I received I'm willing to bet something similar did. This has me thinking that their may be more "insidious" World of Warcraft mods out there.

If you have encountered any mods that you think might not have the best of intentions let me know. I would like to post them here as a warning to anyone thinking about downloading them.

Many guilds require this mod of their members; it is just that useful. When trying to manage massive groups of players efficiency of communication is key. This mod allows you to track raid member information, manage buffs, cures and heals via a queing system that can be bound to specific keys.

This is the mod to have in order to be successful in your World of Warcraft raids.

Ok priests, this one is for you. It will totally simplify the clean up process for disease and curses. This is an auto-configuring, set it and forget it, mod. It even has an installer program so you do not manually have to copy the files to your Interface directory.

A really helpful mod for World of Warcraft priests.

World of Warcraft Donate Track Mod Addon

Running a guild bank can be a real pain. Knowing just who sent what at any given time just gets more and more confusing as more items come in and more members join the guild. The Donate Track World of Warcraft Addon simplifies the process. It automatically records the names of those that have sent you money and items.

If you manage a guild bank in World of Warcraft this Mod is the one you need.

World of Warcraft Hunter Mod Addon pack

If you are playing a hunter in World of Warcraft there are some excellent Mods and Add Ons that you can use to improve your in game experience. It can be time consuming though, to search for them and manage them once you have them installed. Fortunately there are many Hunter packs that have been assembled to help you manage your mods.

The pack I have found most useful is Anathema Hunter Mod Pack. This pack contains many useful UI enhancements to make shifting aspects easier, managing your pet easier and improving communication in a party/raid.

Happy Gaming!

Auctioneer Mod Updated Features

Mod Info
Title : Auctioneer
Version : 3.3.0.0791

Rating : Four of Five Slices

After patch 1.10 I figured I needed to update several of the addons that I use that were broken after the patch. One of the main addons that I use is Auctioneer. There are some really nice new features that I'm glad to see in the version that I am now using.

I especially like that now I am able to specify how and when Auctioneer loads. There are options for load manually, load always and load when at the auction house. This lets the mod take up less memory while the game is running and if I happen to want to turn off Auctioneer's extra display features I can do that as well.

Another new feature is the countdown for scanning the auction house. The Auctioneer mod now sports a handy new countdown to let you know how long a scan will take. Now you can know if you've got time for a cup of coffee or time to vacuum the house.

I've successfuly used Auctioneer in WOW to accumulate enough gold for my level forty mount in under three weeks. That was starting from zero gold at the beginning. It really makes your pricing and auction activities much more efficient. If you can price an item right the first time you will save yourself time and gold from not sold items. Auctioneer is also great to let you know which items go well at the auction house and which ones you should just dump at the nearest vendor.

All of you out there interested in making gold efficiently in WOW should check out the Auctioneer mod. It's really a great time saver and info tool.

Warcraft Mods and Addons - 006 - Mod Manager Software

this is an audio post - click to play

Ok, I'm on a quest. This isn't a game quest. This is a real life quest to find the perfect mod manager software. After the latest patch I am worn out with manually researching my addons and, downloading them one by one and then reinstalling them. My perfect mod manager would allow World of Warcraft mod authors to post their mods, their current patch compliancy and the url where they could be downloaded.

With this in place the mod manager could be configured to track currently installed mods, download those that are current patch compliant and install them. Viola! Patch nightmares eliminated.

I've had a couple of responses to inquiries I've made in the forums that I'll be checking out and letting you know about. In the mean time, Happy Gaming!
